This tight buffered indoor/outdoor fibre-optic cable is cost effective, easy to install and is ideal for standard applications.
The cable is "Installation friendly" with a low friction, tough and crush resistant sheath and is available in 4-24 fibre. The cable contains fibres with Tetracoat® protection (tight buffering) and non-metallic aramid strength members, incorporating a moisture protection system. The single sheath and the fibre buffer are easy to strip making termination easy. The cable with its fire retardent low smoke sheath is small, flexible and ideally suited for indoor use.
Multi-mode optical fibre has a higher "light-gathering" capacity than single-mode optical fiber. Its larger core size simplifies connections and also allows the use of lower-cost electronics such as LEDs and VCSELs which operate at the 89nm wavelength whereas single-mode fibers operate at 1310nm or 159nm and require more expensive laser sources.
Particularly suitable for short links in a low fibre count distribution network, including risers and lift shafts.
